Importing veterinary drugs of poor quality will be fined up to VND 15 million

On January 10, 2022, the Government issued Decree 07/2022/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Decree on sanctioning of administrative violations in the forestry sector; plant protection and quarantine; veterinary medicine; breed.

Accordingly, amending and supplementing Clause 1, Article 39 of Decree No. 90/2017/ND-CP on quality violations in the import of veterinary drugs and veterinary drug ingredients as follows:

A fine ranging from VND 10-15 million shall be imposed for importing each type of veterinary drug or raw material that does not meet the quality standards announced by the manufacturer.

(According to the old regulations, a fine of from 60% to 70% of the product lot value but not exceeding VND 50 million for acts of importing veterinary drugs or ingredients that do not meet the quality standards of public manufacturers. Father).

In addition, Clause 2a is added after Clause 2, Article 39 of Decree 90/2017 , specifically:

A fine of between VND 25-30 million shall be imposed for selling each type of imported veterinary drug containing narcotic substances or precursors to a veterinary drug trading establishment that does not have a certificate of eligibility to trade in veterinary drugs according to regulations. According to regulations, establishments are not allowed to practice medical examination, diagnosis, animal surgery, animal disease testing.

Decree 07/2022/ND-CP takes effect from January 10, 2022.
