On December 22, 2023, the Minister of Industry and Trade issued Circular 37/2023/TT-BCT on import tariff quotas for salt and poultry eggs in Vietnam in 2024.
Import tariff quotas for salt and poultry eggs in Vietnam in 2024 is as follows:
- The amount of import tariff quota for poultry eggs (commercial eggs without embryos) is 68,670 dozen, as follows:
+ Chicken eggs have 2 product codes: 0407.21.00 and 0407.90.10
+ Duck and geese eggs have 2 product codes: 0407.29.10 and 0407.90.20
+ Other eggs have 2 product codes: 0407.29.90 and 0407.90.90
- Import tariff quota amounts for salt (including table salt and denatured salt) and pure sodium chloride, whether or not in aqueous solution or containing anti-caking agents or free-flowing agents; sea water is 88,000 tons.
Import tariff quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2024 will be implemented according to the assignment method specified in Decree 69/2018/ND-CP and Circular 12/2018/TT-BCT.
Subjects assigned tariff quotas to import salt and poultry eggs in 2024
- Import tariff quotas for salt products are assigned to traders who directly use them as raw materials for the production of drugs, medical products, and chemical products.
- Tariff quotas for importing poultry eggs are assigned to traders wishing to import.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade discussed this with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to determine the time to assign import tariff quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2024.
