Guidelines for propaganda on the Hung Kings Commemoration Day in 2025 (March 10 of the lunar calendar) in Vietnam

The Central Propaganda Department issued Guidance 179-HD/BTGTW on December 18, 2024, regarding the propaganda of major holidays and significant historical events of the country in 2025.

The guidance for propaganda on the Hung Kings Commemoration Day (March 10 Lunar Calendar) is as follows:

* Content of Propaganda

- The tradition of nation building and defense of the Vietnamese people; educating generations of Vietnamese, especially the youth, to look back to the roots of the nation, remember and show gratitude to the Hung Kings for establishing the nation and the ancestors who made great contributions in the struggle against foreign invaders, building, and protecting the homeland.

- Propagate and introduce the traditional, historical, and cultural values of the country and the Vietnamese people that have been nurtured, shaped from the Hung Kings era to the Ho Chi Minh era, including preserving and promoting the heritage, relics of the Hung Kings era; encouraging people within the country and the Vietnamese community abroad to look back to national roots, unite, and strive together to build an increasingly wealthy, prosperous, and happy homeland.

- The role of the strength of national solidarity in the endeavor to build and protect the homeland; affirming that the ethnic groups in the Vietnamese community are equal, united, respectful, and help each other overcome difficulties and challenges, to build and develop the socio-economy, ensure social security; honoring collectives and individuals who have made contributions to build and promote the bloc of national solidarity in the endeavor to build and defend the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

* Key Propaganda and Commemoration Activities

- In Phu Tho: The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Tho province organize a ceremony for incense and flower offerings: The Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province is the Chief Ceremony Official.

- Provinces, cities, ministries, and central agencies: Focus on directing effective propaganda work in newspapers, electronic information sites, media, visible advertising, and cultural - artistic, sports activities.

What are regulations on wages and bonuses for working on Hung Kings Commemoration Day in 2025 in Vietnam?

According to Article 98 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulating wages for overtime, and night work:

- Employees working overtime on holidays, Tet, paid leave days, at least equal to 300% of regular wages, not including the wages of holiday, Tet, paid leave days for day-wage employees.

- Employees working at night are paid at least 30% more based on the wage unit price, or the actual paid wage according to the usual working day.

- Employees working overtime at night are, in addition to the above paid wages, entitled to an additional 20% of the wage calculated on the wage unit price or the daytime work wage of the holiday, Tet.

However, the above regulation is the minimum wage an employer pays to the employee, an employer can pay a higher wage to the employee.

Regarding bonuses, as stipulated in Article 104 of the Labor Code 2019:

- A bonus is money, property, or other forms awarded by the employer to the employee based on production and business results, and the level of work completion by the employee.

- The bonus regulation is decided and made public by the employer at the workplace after consulting the employee's representative organization at the facility where available.

Therefore, whether to award a bonus or not will be decided by the employer, and if the bonus regulation includes a decision for staff bonuses on this occasion, employees will still receive a bonus.
