Hanoi-Vietnam: New regulations on persons eligible for tuition exemption

Joint Circular 09/2016/TTLT-BGDDT-BTC-BLDTBXH issued on March 30, 2016, stipulating the collection and management of tuition, tuition exemption or reduction, and financing for studying costs from the 2015 - 2016 academic year to 2020 - 2021 academic year in Vietnam.

Persons eligible for tuition exemption in Vietnam include:

- People with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives according to the Ordinance on Preferences for People with Meritorious Services in Document 01/VBHN-VPQH in 2012;

- Preschool children; disabled and handicapped students belonging to poor and near-poor households;

- Preschool children; students under the age of 16 without a caregiver as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 5 of Decree 136/2013/ND-CP;

- Preschool children; students in general education whose parents belong to poor households;

- Preschool children; students in general education who are children of non-commissioned officers, soldiers, and enlisted soldiers as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 4 of Joint Circular 20/2012/TTLT-BQP-BTC;

- Students in a system of recruitment designated by the state;

- Students of boarding ethnic secondary schools, pre-university schools, pre-university departments;
