On June 22, 2021, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular 17/2021/TT-BGDĐT stipulating regulations on training program standards; formulating, evaluating and promulgating training programs at higher education levels.
According to the Circular, the entry standards of the training program in Vietnam are specified as follows:
- For university training and specialized training at level 7 in Vietnam, learners must have graduated from high school or equivalent.
- For master's training in Vietnam:
+ A bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant major;
+ Foreign language level 3 according to Vietnam's 6-tier Foreign Language Competency Framework, or equivalent.
+ For a research-oriented master's program, you must have a good university degree or higher or have a scientific publication related to your field of study.
- For doctoral training in Vietnam:
+ A Master's degree or a specific specialized training program at level 7 in a relevant discipline, or a university degree (or equivalent or higher) in a relevant discipline with honors.
+ Foreign language level 4 according to Vietnam's 6-tier Foreign Language Competency Framework, or equivalent.
+ Ability and experience in research.
Circular 17/2021/TT-BGDDT replaces Circular 07/2015/TT-BGDDT and takes effect on August 7, 2021.
