The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam issued Decision 817/QD-TTg on August 9, 2024, approving the Scheme for "land inventory, making of the current land use map in 2024", which includes the deadlines for completing and and submitting report on the results of land inventory in Vietnam in 2024

Deadlines for completing and and submitting report on the results of land inventory in Vietnam in 2024

The starting date for the 2024 land inventory will be uniformly implemented nationwide from August 1, 2024. The land inventory data for 2024 will be compiled up to December 31, 2024.

The deadlines for completing and and submitting report on the results of land inventory in Vietnam in 2024 at different levels are as follows:

- Provincial People's Committees shall decide the deadlines for completing and submitting the land inventory results of communal and district levels;

- Provincial People's Committees shall complete, approve, and submit the land inventory results to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment before June 30, 2025;

- The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam shall complete and submit the results to the Provincial People's Committees before March 31, 2025, for aggregation and reporting; they shall also submit the results to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment before June 30, 2025.

- The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam shall complete and report to the Prime Minister the national land inventory results, summarize, and announce the 2024 land inventory results before September 30, 2025.

Scope of the 2024 Land Inventory

- Scope of implementation: The 2024 land inventory and the creation of the current land use map will be implemented nationwide across all administrative levels (communal, district, province), various socio-economic regions, and the entire country; wherein the communal level is the fundamental unit for conducting the inventory and serves as the basis for aggregating land inventory results, and creating the current land use maps for district, provincial levels, regions, and the entire country.

- Subjects for the 2024 implementation include: areas of various land types, different land users, and entities assigned for management; concurrently, during this land inventory period, an assessment of the management and use of golf course land; airports, airstrips; eroded and accreted land areas; land originating from agricultural and forestry stations and other specialized topics in localities will be carried out as a basis for implementing measures to enhance management and increase the efficiency of land use for these types of land.
