Continue to strengthen the organization and operation of standards, measurement, and quality agencies towards a single national focal point in Vietnam

On July 30, 2024, the Secretariat issued Directive 38-CT/TW on promoting standards, measurement, and national quality until 2030 and the subsequent years, in which it includes the content of continuing to streamline the organizational operations of standards, measurement, and quality agencies towards a single national focal point in Vietnam.

According to Directive 38-CT/TW in 2024, in order to continue innovating, developing, and enhancing the quality and efficiency of standards, measurements, and quality work by 2030 and subsequent years, contributing to the goal of becoming a modern industrial country as per the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Communist Party, the Secretariat requires party committees, party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations to focus on leading and directing the effective implementation of the following key tasks and solutions:

- Promote propaganda, raising awareness, knowledge, and responsibility of officials, party members, and the public, especially leaders, managers, and heads of agencies, organizations, and enterprises about the role, position, and importance of standards, measurements, and quality work in the industrialization, modernization, construction, and development of the country, in social life.

- Review, build, supplement, and complete policies and laws on standards, measurements, and quality in a focused, unified, and internationally integrated manner based on modern technical infrastructure, digital technology, and smart governance models.

- Continue to strengthen the organization and operation of the standard, measurement, and quality agencies towards a single national focal point to manage state standards, measurements, and quality uniformly from central to local levels.

- Develop and train human resources in the field of standards, measurements, and quality ensuring both quantity and quality. Introduce training for standards, measurements, and quality personnel into several universities, colleges, and vocational training institutions.

- Increase state budget investment for standards, measurements, and quality work within the total state budget expenditure for science and technology appropriate to its position and role. Plan and properly implement the development of standard, measurement, and quality inspection centers nationwide.

- Strengthen inspection, examination, and supervision of standards, measurements, and quality to ensure the safety of products and goods in production, import, and circulation in the market. Coordinate to strictly handle acts of corruption, negatives, and violations of the laws on standards, measurements, and quality.

- Proactively and actively integrate internationally regarding standard, measurement, and quality work, complying with relevant treaties and international agreements to which Vietnam is a party. Enhance information exchange, experience sharing, and training cooperation; promptly update standards and new technologies, especially with countries having advanced standard, measurement, and quality inspection capabilities. Increase participation in international organizations.
