Recently, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam signed Decision No. 06/QD-TTg issuing the Regulations on standards, procedures for assessment and recognition of communes, wards, and commune-level towns suitable for children.
To be recognized as a commune, ward, or commune-level town meeting the standards suitable for children, that commune, ward, or commune-level town must meet all 13 criteria, with no criterion scoring 0 points, and must specifically achieve the total score as prescribed as follows:
- Wards in districts, district-level towns, cities under centrally governed cities: Must score 900 points or more;- Communes and commune-level towns in mountainous, island areas; extremely difficult communes: Must score 800 points or more;- Other communes, wards, commune-level towns: Must score 850 points or more.
Examples of 4 out of the 13 evaluation criteria include:
- Children are registered for birth conformably;- Children are protected from abuse;- Children in violation of the law, drug addiction;- Satisfaction level of children and residents regarding the implementation of children's rights.
