Conditions for Recognizing an Elementary School as Meeting National Standards

The Ministry of Education and Training promulgates Circular 17/2018/TT-BGDDT appended with Regulations on accreditation of education quality and recognition of national standards for primary schools.

Elementary schools are recognized as meeting national standards when they meet the following conditions:

- Have at least one cohort of students who have completed the elementary education program.- Have external evaluation results at level 2 or higher.

The recognition of meeting national standards will be classified into the following 02 levels:

- Level 1: Applied to schools that are evaluated to meet Level 2.- Level 2: Applied to schools that are evaluated to meet Level 3 or higher.

According to Circular 17, the certificate of recognition for elementary schools as meeting national standards is valid for 05 years. In cases where the certificate of recognition expires, the elementary school must complete the self-evaluation process and register for re-evaluation to be re-recognized at least 05 months before the expiration date.
