On February 24, 2023, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Decision 148/QD-TTg about the Criteria and Regulations program of product evaluation and classification The One Commune One Product Program (OCOP).
According to Vietnam's Decision 148/QD-TTg, the product classification of the OCOP Program is based on the results of product evaluation according to the OCOP Criteria.
Specifically, the total evaluation score for each product is up to 100 points and is divided into 5 ranks:
- 5-star rank: The average total score is from 90 to 100 points, which is a typical product, high quality standards and converging conditions for export.
- 4-star rank: The average total score is from 70 to less than 90 points, is a typical product, meets the requirements of quality and good market access, has the potential to be upgraded to a 5-star rank.
(Previously at Vietnam's Decision 1408/QD-TTg dated August 21, 2019, the average total score was from 70 to 89 points)
- 3-star rank: The average total score is from 50 to less than 70 points, is a product with characteristics, is managed and traded stably, can be upgraded to 4-star rank.
(Previously, the average total score was between 50 and 69 points)
- 2-star rank: The average total score is from 30 to less than 50 points, the product is manufactured, initially forming specific quality, can continue to be upgraded to upgrade to 3-star rank.
(Previously, the total score was between 30 and 49 points)
- 2-star rank: The average total score is less than 30 points, is a primitive product, not yet formed in commerce, can be upgraded to 2-star rank.
Vietnam's Decision 148/QD-TTg takes effect from the date of signing, replacing Vietnam's Decision 1408/QD-TTg dated August 21, 2019 and Vietnam's Decision 781/QD-TTg dated June 8, 2020.
