On July 26, 2017, Vietnam Social Security (VSS) signed Decision No. 1293/QD-BHXH promulgating the regulation on the operation of the Vietnam Social Security electronic portal.

Currently, there are 24 specialized sections operating on the Electronic Portal. Noteworthy sections include:

- News and Events;- Document System;- Q&A about Policy;- Research and Exchange;- Social Insurance Administrative Procedures;- Online Public Services and Electronic Transactions;- Feedback and Suggestions for the Social Insurance Sector.

Depending on the actual situation, the Editorial Board may review, supplement, and adjust this list of sections.

The official languages used on the Electronic Portal are Vietnamese (address http://baohiemxahoi.gov.vn) and English (address http://vss.gov.vn); using the Standard Vietnamese Character Set (Unicode, TCVN 6969:2001).
