The National Assembly of Vietnam has passed 02 Resolutions on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the XV National Assembly and the organization of National Assembly agencies in Vietnam

The National Assembly passed 02 Resolutions on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for the XV term and the organization of the agencies of the National Assembly at the 9th extraordinary session, XV National Assembly. Specifically:

(1) Resolution 179/2025/QH15 on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for the XV term

- The number of members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for the XV term is 19, including:

+ The President of the National Assembly,

+ 06 Vice Presidents of the National Assembly,

+ 12 Members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

(2) Resolution 178/2025/QH15 on the organization of the agencies of the National Assembly

In Resolution 178/2025/QH15, the National Assembly prescribed the agencies of the National Assembly as follows:

- The agencies of the National Assembly include:

+ Council for Ethnic Affairs;

+ Committee for Legal and Judicial Affairs;

+ Committee for Economic and Financial Affairs;

+ Committee on Defense, Security, and Foreign Affairs;

+ Committee for Culture and Social Affairs;

+ Committee for Science, Technology, and Environment;

+ Committee for Delegate Affairs;

+ Committee for Petitions and Supervision.

- The Standing Committee of the National Assembly stipulates the specific tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the agencies prescribed in clause 1 Article 1 Resolution 178/2025/QH15, ensuring clear delineation of the scope of responsibilities and comprehensive coverage of all tasks, powers of the agencies as per the current regulations.

Please note:

Committees such as the Committee for Legal Affairs, Committee for Judicial Affairs, Committee for Economic Affairs, Committee for Finance and Budget, Committee for Culture and Education, Committee for Social Affairs, Committee for National Defense and Security, Committee for Foreign Affairs are organized and operate according to the provisions of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly 2014 (amended in 2020) until the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the specific tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Council for Ethnic Affairs, the Committees of the National Assembly prescribed in clause 1 Article 1 Resolution 178/2025/QH15 becomes effective.

The agencies prescribed in clause 1 Article 1 Resolution 178/2025/QH15 officially commence activities from the date the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the specific tasks, powers, and organizational structure of these agencies takes effect.

- The agencies prescribed in clause 1 Article 2 Resolution 178/2025/QH15 and other relevant agencies and organizations will organize the transfer and reception of assets, documentation, and the ongoing work according to the assigned tasks, powers, and areas of responsibility.

More details can be found in Resolution 179/2025/QH15 and Resolution 178/2025/QH15 which come into effect from February 15, 2025.
