The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued Official Dispatch 1556/UBND-VX regarding the return to school of students and trainees at general education and vocational education institutions in the city.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City directs as follows:
First: Approving the policy regarding the roadmap for students, trainees, and college students to resume school at general education institutions and vocational education institutions as proposed by the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs; start date for school is from May 4, allocated according to each grade level, not grouped simultaneously.
Second: Assigning the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs to develop a specific plan for resuming school, which must include detailed guidance on solutions to ensure effective COVID-19 prevention and control as per Directive 19/CT-TTg dated April 24, 2020, by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam, and the guidance from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, and the set of criteria for COVID-19 safety assessment in educational and vocational education institutions; Complete on schedule and ensure the quality and program of the 2019-2020 academic year.
Third: Assigning the COVID-19 prevention steering committee of districts and towns to guide inspections and supervision of educational institutions (including language centers, computer centers, tutoring centers...) to implement the set of criteria for COVID-19 safety assessment; organize inspections and monitor the situation of students, trainees, and college students resuming school, especially for non-public educational institutions in the area.
Fourth: For public kindergartens, non-public kindergartens, and independent private childcare groups, assigning the district and town People's Committees to direct specialized agencies to organize inspections of COVID-19 prevention measures before the resumption of preschool classes to ensure the safety of children.
