Ngaynay.vn Online Newspaper, on June 25, 2020, published the articles "Repaying Fe Credit by Finding Death" and "Collecting Debt in a Dishonorable Way, Showing Signs of Kidnapping Debtors," reflecting the situation where many people, after borrowing money from Fe Credit Finance Company, have fallen into a state of "family breakdown." Recently, there was the case of Mr. Le Thanh Tam from Ward 14, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, who, after borrowing money from Fe Credit Company, on June 19, 2020, was openly threatened, cursed, beaten, and forcibly taken by a group of hooligans to the company's headquarters for continuous coercion for several hours; however, local authorities and law enforcement were not present to intervene. The hooligans also threatened that if Mr. Tam did not repay the money by June 22, 2020, they would kill him. Subsequently, Mr. Tam committed suicide on June 21, 2020.
Regarding this matter, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Head of Steering Committee 138/CP, gave the following opinion: Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee directs the competent authorities to check and clarify the above information; if the content of the articles is found to be true, strict action must be taken against the violating organizations and individuals according to legal regulations; report the results to the Prime Minister before July 10, 2020.
