On February 10, 2019, Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the MLDTBXH came into effect, stipulating the minimum knowledge and competencies that students must achieve upon graduating from intermediate and college levels in fields related to materials, metallurgy, manufacturing, and other technical technologies.
Vietnam: Skills required for graduates in automotive technology at the intermediate level
Under the Regulation on the minimum knowledge volume, and competency requirements for students to achieve upon graduating from intermediate and college levels in Automotive Technology sectors issued with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills required upon graduation from the intermediate level in automotive technology are stipulated as follows:
Be able to read simple technical drawings; consult technical documents related to the automotive field;
Accurately select and proficiently use various tools, and equipment for disassembly, assembly, measurement, and basic inspection in the automotive technology field; preserve equipment and tools related to the automotive technology field;
Inspect the defects of basic components and systems of automobiles;
Draft simple disassembly and assembly procedures for basic parts and systems of automobiles;
Draft simple maintenance and repair procedures suitable for individual parts, systems, and types of automobiles;
Perform maintenance and repair tasks according to procedures and regulations, ensuring technical standards;
Organize and manage maintenance and repair processes corresponding to the trained level;
Operate automobiles in compliance with the law, and technical requirements, and ensure safety;
Train and enhance the knowledge, skills, and professions for learners at lower levels.
Use specialized terminology of the trained field effectively in workplace communication; critically analyze and utilize alternative solutions; evaluate the quality of simple tasks and the outcome of team members;
Use basic information technology as specified; exploit, process, and apply information technology in the specialized work of the field;
Use basic foreign language, reaching level 1/6 in Vietnam's Foreign Language Competency Framework; apply foreign languages in specialized work of the field.
