Vietnam’s Circular 45: Regulations on the required skills of the architectural engineering profession

According to Circular No. 45/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam, the skills that learners are required to achieve after graduating from the college-level and intermediate-level Architectural Engineering are as follows:

1. For college-level

- Being able to develop comprehensive solutions for environmental protection; being able to apply environmental protection measures in daily life and work.

- Monitoring and implementing the 5S methodology in work and managing the storage of design documents.

- Being able to apply basic principles of effective communication, being able to analyze situations and orientate one's own activities and team.

- Proficiently using 2D and 3D drawing software in the field of architecture and construction.

- Being able to select materials, equipment, etc. in accordance with the green construction technology standards.

- Proficiently use measuring and drawing tools and some specialized equipment in the field of architecture.

- Proficiently use specialized graphic software to create and implement design drawings, technical designs, and construction projects for architecture, urban planning, and interior and exterior design.

- Being able to monitor construction activities according to design drawings.

- Being able to illustrate images, models, videos for architectural projects.

- Being able to inspect and supervise the installation and completion of interior fittings in compliance with standards, regulations, and technical requirements.

- Being able to provide consulting services to customers on architectural design, interior design, and furniture products.

- Being able to use basic information technology as regulated; exploiting, processing, and applying information technology in the professional work of the industry.

- Being able to use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 2 out of 6 in the Vietnamese Framework of Foreign Language Proficiency; being able to apply foreign languages in the professional work of the industry.

2. For intermediate-level

- Being able to implement some 5S skills in construction organization.

- Selecting materials, equipment, etc. in accordance with the green construction technology standards.

- Being able to read technical drawings and identify common errors in technical drawings.

- Proficiently using specialized graphic software to create and implement design drawings, technical designs, and construction projects for architecture, urban planning, interior and exterior design.

- Monitoring construction activities according to design drawings.

- Inspecting and supervising the installation and completion of interior fittings in compliance with standards, regulations, and technical requirements.

- Providing consulting services to customers on architectural design, interior design, and furniture products.

- Being able to use basic information technology as regulated; applying information technology in some professional work in the industry.

- Being able to use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 1 out of 6 in the Vietnamese Framework of Foreign Language Proficiency; being able to apply foreign languages in some professional work in the industry.
