Recently, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular No. 45/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum knowledge requirements and capacity standards that learners must achieve upon graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of architectural technology, construction works, mechanics, electricity, electronics, telecommunications, and chemistry.
Specifically, Circular No. 45/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam, the college-level Automotive Engineering is a profession that involves the maintenance and repair of various types of automobiles, ensuring compliance with procedures and technical requirements, and meeting the requirements of Level 5 in the National Qualifications Framework of Vietnam. The regulations on the minimum knowledge requirements for the college-level Automotive Engineering are as follows:
- Being able to present basic knowledge of electrical-electronics, applied mechanics, technical drawing, mechanical materials, pneumatic-hydraulic systems, etc. to acquire specialized knowledge in automotive engineering.
- Being able to present the structure and operating principles of engine systems, suspension systems, steering systems, braking systems, power transmission systems, and automotive electrical systems.
- Being able to present the maintenance process of engine systems, suspension systems, steering systems, braking systems, power transmission systems, and automotive electrical systems.
- Being able to recognize and present the operation of equipment and tools used in the profession.
- Being able to diagnose and determine faults in automobiles.
- Being able to analyze the causes of faults in engine systems, suspension systems, steering systems, braking systems, power transmission systems, and automotive electrical systems.
- Being able to present repair methods and technologies for automobiles.
- Being able to present operation and inspection procedures for automobiles.
- Being able to describe methods for adjusting working parameters of systems in automobiles to ensure compliance with manufacturer's specifications.
- Being able to absorb and transfer new technology in the automotive field.
- Being able to present basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as required.
Note: The minimum knowledge requirement for the college-level Automotive Engineering is 2,500 hours (equivalent to 75 credits).
