System of Criteria for Suggesting Evidences in the Evaluation of General Education Teachers

At the end of the school year, teachers self-assess the professional standards according to Circular 20/2018/TT-BGDDT and may compile criteria in the suggested evidence for teacher evaluation as per the example in Official Dispatch 4530/BGDDT-NGCBQLGD in 2018.

Evidence Templates for Assessing General Education Teachers

To be specific, 15 criteria in the suggested evidence for assessing general education teachers include:

Standard 1: Teacher’s Ethics

Adhere to regulations and practice teacher ethics, share experiences, support colleagues in ethical practice, and establish teaching demeanor.

- Criterion 1: Teacher’s ethics;- Criterion 2: Teaching demeanor.

Standard 2: Professional Development

Master the professional knowledge and skills, regularly update and enhance professional capacities to meet the requirements of educational innovation.

- Criterion 3: Self-development in professional areas;- Criterion 4: Develop teaching and education plans aimed at fostering students' qualities and capabilities;- Criterion 5: Utilize teaching and educational methodologies to foster students' qualities and capabilities;- Criterion 6: Assess and evaluate according to the development of students' qualities and capabilities;- Criterion 7: Advise and support students.

Standard 3: Establishing Educational Environment

Implement the creation of a safe, healthy, democratic educational environment, and prevent school violence.

- Criterion 8: Establish school culture;- Criterion 9: Exercise democratic rights in school;- Criterion 10: Implement and ensure a safe school environment and prevent school violence.

Standard 4: Developing Relationships between School, Family, and Society

Participate in organizing and implementing activities to build and develop relationships between school, family, and society in teaching and nurturing ethics and lifestyle for students.

- Criterion 11: Establish cooperative relationships with parents or guardians of students and relevant parties;- Criterion 12: Coordinate between school, family, and society to conduct teaching activities for students;- Criterion 13: Coordinate between school, family, and society in educating students' ethics and lifestyles.

Standard 5: Use of Foreign Language or Ethnic Language, Application of Information Technology, Utilization and Exploitation of Technological Equipment in Teaching and Education

Able to use foreign languages or ethnic languages, apply information technology, and utilize and exploit technological equipment in teaching and education.

- Criterion 14: Use foreign languages or ethnic languages;- Criterion 15: Apply information technology, utilize and exploit technological equipment in teaching and education.

Above are the 15 criteria in the suggested evidence for assessing general education teachers. Units should refer to these criteria and proactively gather evidence from documents, materials, phenomena to objectively authenticate the extent of achievement in teaching and educating students in general education institutions to carry out the assessment appropriately.
