Subjects Eligible for Support with Oil in Marine Exploitation

Recently, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular 35/2008/TT-BTC guiding Decision 289/QD-TTg on policies to support ethnic minorities, policy households, poor households, near-poor households, and fishermen.

Circular 35/2008/TT-BTC stipulates the subjects eligible for fuel support in marine exploitation activities as follows:

Subjects eligible for support policy:

Fishermen who own fishing vessels or service ships for marine exploitation activities and conduct continuous and regular marine exploitation activities, deriving the main income from fishing.

Conditions for support:

- Ship owners with fishing vessels or service ships that operate for 6 months or more in a year, have completed the procedures for hull insurance, crew accident insurance, and have registration and certification of fishing vessels according to legal regulations.- Possess a marine exploitation license; have a legal residential address confirmed by the commune-level People's Committee.- Must have confirmation from the commune-level authority and border soldiers after each sea trip.

Support level:

- For ships with engine capacity of 90CV or more: support of 8 million VND per fishing trip, the number of supports is based on the actual number of fishing trips but does not exceed 3 times per year.- For ships with engine capacity from 40CV to below 90CV: support of 5 million VND per fishing trip, the number of supports is based on the actual number of fishing trips but does not exceed 4 times per year.- For ships with engine capacity below 40CV: support of 3 million VND per fishing trip, the number of supports is based on the actual number of fishing trips but does not exceed 5 times per year.
