The Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam issued Resolution No. 1237/NQ-UBTVQH15 regarding the reorgnization of commune-level administrative units in Ben Tre Province during the period 2023 – 2025.

Reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Ben Tre province from December 01, 2024

The reorgnization of commune-level administrative units in Ben Tre Province from December 1, 2024 is as follows:

(1) Reorgnization of commune-level administrative units in Ben Tre City

- Merge the entire natural area of 0.39 km², with a population size of 5,768 people from Ward 4 and the entire natural area of 0.49 km², with a population size of 5,935 people from Ward 5 into An Hoi Ward. After the merger, An Hoi Ward has a natural area of 1.79 km² and a population size of 25,516 people.

An Hoi Ward borders Ward 6, Ward 7, Ward 8, Phu Khuong Ward, and My Thanh An Commune;

- After the reorgnization, Ben Tre City has 12 commune-level administrative units, comprising 06 wards and 06 communes.

(2) Reorgnization of commune-level administrative units in Chau Thanh District

- Merge the entire natural area of 5.66 km², with a population size of 6,542 people from Phu An Hoa Commune and the entire natural area of 3.98 km², with a population size of 5,314 people from An Hoa Commune into An Phuoc Commune. After the merger, An Phuoc Commune has a natural area of 16.09 km2 and a population size of 17,115 people.

An Phuoc Commune borders Giao Long, Quoi Son, Phuoc Thanh, Tam Phuoc, Tan Thach Communes, Chau Thanh Commune-Level Town, and Binh Dai District;

- Merge the entire natural area of 5.81 km², with a population size of 6,202 people from Son Hoa Commune and the entire natural area of 7.28 km², with a population size of 7,069 people from An Hiep Commune into Tuong Da Commune. After the merger, Tuong Da Commune has a natural area of 22.60 km2 and a population size of 20,403 people.

Tuong Da Commune borders Phu Tuc, Tam Phuoc, Thanh Trieu Communes, Chau Thanh Commune-Level Town, Tien Thuy Commune-Level Town; Mo Cay Bac District and Ben Tre City;

- Merge the entire natural area of 11.93 km² and population size of 11,486 people from An Khanh Commune into Chau Thanh Commune-Level Town. After the merger, Chau Thanh Commune-Level Town has a natural area of 15.04 km² and a population size of 15,604 people.

Chau Thanh Commune-Level Town borders An Phuoc, Phu Tuc, Tam Phuoc, Tan Thach, Tuong Da Communes, and Tien Giang Province;

- After the reorgnization, Chau Thanh District has 16 commune-level administrative units, comprising 14 communes and 02 commune-level towns.

(3) Reorgnization of commune-level administrative units in Binh Dai District

- Merge the entire natural area of 10.30 km², with a population size of 5,332 people from Phu Vang Commune into Loc Thuan Commune. After the merger, Loc Thuan Commune has a natural area of 22.05 km² and a population size of 14,024 people.

Loc Thuan Commune borders Dinh Trung, Phu Long, Thoi Lai, Vang Quoi Dong Communes, Giong Trom District, and Tien Giang Province;

- After the reorgnization, Binh Dai District has 19 commune-level administrative units, comprising 18 communes and 01 commune-level town.

(4) Reorgnization of commune-level administrative units in Ba Tri District

- Merge the entire natural area of 13.10 km², with a population size of 3,536 people from Tan My Commune into My Hoa Commune. After the merger, My Hoa Commune has a natural area of 29.32 km² and a population size of 12,470 people.

My Hoa Commune borders My Chanh, Tan Xuan Communes, Binh Dai District, and Giong Trom District;

- After the reorgnization, Ba Tri District has 22 commune-level administrative units, comprising 20 communes and 02 commune-level towns.

After reorganizing the commune-level administrative units, Ben Tre Province has 09 district-level administrative units, comprising 08 districts and 01 city; 148 commune-level administrative units, comprising 132 communes, 06 wards, and 10 commune-level towns.
