Skill Requirements for Veterinary Sector at College Level

Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by BLDTBXH stipulates the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels in disciplines and professions related to agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary medicine.

According to the minimum volume of knowledge, competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate level, and college level in veterinary science, issued with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills that learners must achieve after graduating from college in veterinary science are as follows:

- Develop and manage livestock development programs, effectively execute professional skills: Principles of using veterinary drugs; microbiology and infectious diseases; diagnosing, preventing, and treating infectious diseases, internal medicine, obstetrics, surgery; castration and caesarean techniques... and control and manage diseases at production facilities and livestock farms;

- Plan, preside over professional consultancy, training, scientific and technical transfer for livestock farmers; organize and manage veterinary clinics and livestock farms;

- Organize and implement specialized research ideas in the field of veterinary medicine;

- Manage and operate a production unit: Manage and execute techniques for using drugs, vaccines in preventing and treating diseases for animals. Use veterinary products to enhance digestion, absorption, reproductive productivity, disease resistance, and weight gain in animals;

- Manage slaughter control, inspect animal products according to legal regulations on food hygiene safety, prevent zoonotic diseases;

- Independently plan, organize, arrange, and evaluate assigned veterinary professional work;

- Efficiently perform clinical, subclinical, non-clinical techniques, and collect specimens for disease diagnosis, prevention, and treatment in animals. Proficiently operate and use some modern machines and equipment in the veterinary specialized field;

- Proficiently use various vaccines, drugs, and chemicals in preventing and treating diseases in animals;

- Propose technical solutions to enhance the effectiveness of disease prevention and control in animals;

- Write scientific reports, presentation skills in specialized fields, communication skills;

- Plan, organize and manage production and business operations in veterinary science;

- Utilize basic information technology as regulated; exploit, process, apply information technology in professional work;

- Use basic foreign languages, achieve level 2/6 in Vietnam's Foreign Language Competency Framework; apply foreign language skills to professional work.
