Requirements for Veterinary Skills at Intermediate Level

On February 10, 2019, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) regulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that students must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary medicine, will take effect.

According to the regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level and college level in the veterinary industry, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills required after graduating in the veterinary industry at the intermediate level are as follows:

- Perform diagnostic work, treat diseases, extract and prepare semen, practice obstetrics;

- Carry out all steps in establishing and implementing epidemic prevention procedures;

- Set up pet care services, open veterinary medicine and animal feed stores;

- Conduct the business of animal feed and veterinary medicines ensuring effectiveness, safety, environmental sanitation, and legal compliance;

- Perform veterinary work in breeding facilities, local agricultural extension systems, and participate in the production of veterinary medicines;

- Advocate and mobilize the community to implement disease prevention plans for livestock and poultry;

- Plan, manage time, organize, and work effectively in groups;

- Update and share new information and technology in the veterinary field to effectively fulfill assigned tasks;

- Record work logs, make content reports, track work progress. Implement occupational safety and veterinary hygiene measures;

- Use basic information technology as prescribed; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work within the industry;

- Use basic foreign languages, achieve level 1/6 in the Vietnamese Foreign Language Competency Framework; apply foreign languages in professional work within the industry.
