Periodic Health Examination Expenses in the Ministry of National Defense

On August 9, 2017, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 187/2017/TT-BQP detailing the costs of periodic health examinations within the Ministry of National Defense.

Circular 187 prescribes that the costs of periodic health check-ups include expenses for annual health examinations or assessments for those receiving salaries and allowances.

- Periodic health check-ups for senior officers include: clinical examinations in various specialties (internal medicine; surgery; neurology, psychiatry; dermatology; ophthalmology; ear-nose-throat; dental-oral-maxillofacial) and para-clinical examinations (blood hematology, blood biochemistry tests; urine tests; general ultrasound, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray; immunological tests, tumor markers for certain cancers);- Periodic health check-ups for special forces, scouts, radar operators, intelligence, soldiers stationed in border areas and near-shore islands, surface ship crews, hazardous work (as prescribed by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs), and mid-level officers include: clinical examinations in various specialties (internal medicine; surgery; neurology, psychiatry; dermatology; ophthalmology; ear-nose-throat; dental-oral-maxillofacial) and para-clinical examinations (blood hematology, blood biochemistry tests; urine tests; general ultrasound, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray; immunological tests);- Periodic health check-ups for junior officers and other salary recipients include: clinical examinations in various specialties (internal medicine; surgery; neurology, psychiatry; dermatology; ophthalmology; ear-nose-throat; dental-oral-maxillofacial) and para-clinical examinations (blood hematology, blood biochemistry tests; urine tests; general ultrasound, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray);- Periodic health check-ups and health assessments for pilots and divers;- Periodic health check-ups for those receiving allowances (non-commissioned officers, soldiers, and officer cadets from the second year onwards) include: physical examinations; clinical examinations in various specialties (internal medicine; surgery; neurology, psychiatry; dermatology; ophthalmology; ear-nose-throat; dental-oral-maxillofacial) and para-clinical examinations (blood biochemistry tests, urine tests, general ultrasound, electrocardiogram).

Note that the costs for testing chemicals and consumable materials ensuring periodic health check-ups for the aforesaid subjects are implemented according to the standard norms specified in Section 7 of List No. 06 issued with Decree 76/2016/ND-CP.
