On November 14, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam issued Resolution 1287/NQ-UBTVQH15 concerning the reorganization of communal administrative units in Vinh Phuc province for the period 2023-2025.

Reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Vinh Phuc province from January 01, 2025

The reorganization of communal administrative units in Vinh Phuc province from January 1, 2025, is as follows:

(1) Reorganizing communal administrative units in Phuc Yen City

- Establish Hai Ba Trung Ward by merging the entire natural area of 0.90 km² and a population of 12,264 people from Trung Trac Ward and the entire natural area of 1.80 km² and a population of 8,892 people from Trung Nhi Ward. After establishment, Hai Ba Trung Ward has a natural area of 2.70 km² and a population of 21,156 people.

Hai Ba Trung Ward borders Hung Vuong, Nam Viem, Phuc Thang, and Tien Chau Wards;

- After reorganization, Phuc Yen City has 09 communal administrative units, including 07 wards and 02 communes.

(2) Reorganizing communal administrative units in Vinh Tuong District

- Establish Sao Dai Viet Commune by merging the entire natural area of 2.80 km² and a population of 5,054 people from Viet Xuan Commune, the entire natural area of 2.60 km² and a population of 4,054 people from Bo Sao Commune, and the entire natural area of 5.90 km² and a population of 6,300 people from Cao Dai Commune. After establishment, Sao Dai Viet Commune has a natural area of 11.30 km² and a population of 15,408 people.

Sao Dai Viet Commune borders Lung Hoa, Tan Phu, Yen Lap Communes; Lap Thach District; Phu Tho Province and Hanoi City;

- Merge the entire natural area of 3.00 km² and a population of 7,932 people of Tan Tien Commune into Dai Dong Commune. After merging, Dai Dong Commune has a natural area of 8.20 km² and a population of 19,826 people.

Dai Dong Commune borders Chan Hung, Lung Hoa, Luong Dien, Nghia Hung, Yen Lap Communes, commune-level town Tho Tang, and Yen Lac District;

- Establish An Nhan Commune by merging the entire natural area of 2.90 km² and a population of 6,272 people from Ly Nhan Commune and the entire natural area of 5.40 km² and a population of 10,820 people from An Tuong Commune. After establishment, An Nhan Commune has a natural area of 8.30 km² and a population of 17,092 people.

An Nhan Commune borders Tan Phu, Thuong Trung, Tuan Chinh, Vinh Thinh Communes and Hanoi City;

- Establish Luong Dien Commune by merging the entire natural area of 3.30 km² and a population of 6,652 people from Van Xuan Commune and the entire natural area of 7.60 km² and a population of 15,783 people from Binh Duong Commune. After establishment, Luong Dien Commune has a natural area of 10.90 km² and a population of 22,435 people.

Luong Dien Commune borders Dai Dong Commune, Vu Di Commune, commune-level towns Tho Tang and Tu Tru'ng, and Yen Lac District;

- Establish Vinh Phu Commune by merging the entire natural area of 4.70 km² and a population of 5,352 people from Vinh Ninh Commune and the entire natural area of 6.40 km² and a population of 6,431 people from Phu Da Commune. After establishment, Vinh Phu Commune has a natural area of 11.10 km² and a population of 11,783 people.

Vinh Phu Commune borders Ngu Kien, Vinh Thinh Communes, commune-level towns Tu Trung and Vinh Tuong; Yen Lac District and Hanoi City;

- Merge the entire natural area of 3.30 km² and a population of 6,455 people of Vinh Son Commune into commune-level town Tho Tang. After merging, commune-level town Tho Tang has a natural area of 8,60 km² and a population of 24,989 people.

Tho Tang Town borders Dai Dong, Lung Hoa, Luong Dien, Tan Phu, Thuong Trung, and Vu Di Communes;

- Merge the entire natural area of 3.20 km² and a population of 4,509 people of Tam Phuc Commune into commune-level town Vinh Tuong. After merging, commune-level town Vinh Tuong has a natural area of 6.50 km² and a population of 12,289 people.

Vinh Tuong Town borders commune-level town Tu Trung, Thuong Trung, Tuan Chinh, Vinh Thinh, Vinh Phu, and Vu Di Communes;

- After reorganization, Vinh Tuong District has 20 communal administrative units, consisting of 17 communes and 03 commune-level towns.

(3) Reorganizing communal administrative units in Song Lo District

- Merge the entire natural area of 3.70 km² and a population of 4,203 people from Nhao Son Commune and the entire natural area of 5.00 km² and a population of 4,920 people of Nhu Thuy Commune into commune-level town Tam Son. After merging, commune-level town Tam Son has a natural area of 12.40 km² and a population of 13,613 people.

Tam Son Town borders Dong Que, Phuong Khoan, Tan Lap, Yen Thach Communes and Phu Tho Province;

- Merge the entire natural area of 6.30 km² and a population of 3,519 people from Bach Luu Commune into Hai Luu Commune. After merging, Hai Luu Commune has a natural area of 16.50 km² and a population of 11,303 people.

Hai Luu Commune borders Don Nhan, Lang Cong, Nhan Dao, Quang Yen Communes; Phu Tho Province and Tuyen Quang Province;

- After reorganization, Song Lo District has 14 communal administrative units, consisting of 13 communes and 01 commune-level town.

(4) Reorganizing communal administrative units in Yen Lac District

- Merge the entire natural area of 3.20 km² and a population of 4,707 people of Hong Phuong Commune into Hong Chau Commune. After merging, Hong Chau Commune has a natural area of 8.40 km² and a population of 13,630 people.

Hong Chau Commune borders Lien Chau, Nguyet Duc, Trung Ha, Trung Kien, Yen Phuong Communes and Hanoi City;

- After reorganization, Yen Lac District has 16 communal administrative units, consisting of 14 communes and 02 commune-level towns.

(5) Reorganizing communal administrative units in Lap Thach District

- Establish Tay Son Commune by merging the entire natural area of 4.40 km² and a population of 5,223 people from Dinh Chu Commune and the entire natural area of 5.70 km² and a population of 9,534 people from Trieu De Commune. After establishment, Tay Son Commune has a natural area of 10.10 km² and a population of 14,757 people.

Tay Son Commune borders Dong Ich, Son Dong, Tien Lu, Van Quan Communes; Song Lo and Vinh Tuong Districts;

- After reorganization, Lap Thach District has 19 communal administrative units, consisting of 17 communes and 02 commune-level towns.

(6) Reorganizing communal administrative units in Tam Duong District

- Establish Hoi Thinh Commune by merging the entire natural area of 4.00 km² and a population of 6,914 people from Van Hoi Commune and the entire natural area of 4.40 km² and a population of 8,566 people from Hop Thinh Commune. After establishment, Hoi Thinh Commune has a natural area of 8.40 km² and a population of 15,480 people.

Hoi Thinh Commune borders Duy Phien Commune; Vinh Tuong and Yen Lac Districts and Vinh Yen City;

- After reorganization, Tam Duong District has 12 communal administrative units, consisting of 10 communes and 02 commune-level towns.

After reorganizing the communal administrative units, Vinh Phuc Province has 09 district-level administrative units, consisting of 07 districts and 02 cities; 121 communal administrative units, including 88 communes, 15 wards, and 18 commune-level towns.
