Minimum Knowledge Requirements for the Agricultural and Forestry Extension Sector at College Level

On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) issued Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate level, college level in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary.

According to regulations on the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in the field of agricultural extension, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH the minimum knowledge requirements for graduates with a college degree in the field of agricultural extension are as follows:

- Present the viewpoints and policies of the Communist Party and the State on the development of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries;

- Explain the knowledge regarding methods of agricultural extension, training, information dissemination, planning, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural extension programs, and management of agricultural, forestry, and fishery production;

- Interpret the activities of planning, monitoring and evaluation, building demonstration models, training, organizing agricultural extension seminars and competitions, providing consultancy and services in agricultural, forestry, and fishery production, and developing agricultural extension networks;

- Explain the basic and specialized knowledge of the techniques of raising various livestock species, aquaculture, and the technical processes for breeding, planting, caring for, harvesting, and preserving products of various common agricultural and forestry crops;

- Identify methods and techniques for environmental protection;

- Identify regulations on labor safety, and labor protection policies in the agriculture and forestry sector;

- Present basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, physical education, and informatics according to regulations.
