The Ministry of Transport issued Circular 06/2018/TT-BGTVT on February 07, 2018, to specifically regulate the maintenance of computer hardware in the maritime security alert system.
To be specific:
For Central Processing Unit (CPU) equipment:
- Close the running software and turn off the device according to the correct procedure;- Disconnect the power cord and signal cables connected to other peripheral devices such as printers, network devices, speakers, keyboards, mice, etc.;- Use specialized opening tools to remove the protective casing of the CPU. During the opening process, wear an anti-static wrist strap to avoid damaging the internal components;- Disconnect the CPU power supply from the mainboard and perform industrial cleaning, inspect the cooling fan (replace if necessary), clean the dust, and replace the desiccant bags, measure the output voltage of the power supply to ensure the voltage levels for the mainboard;- Remove the hard drive and CDROM drive, and clean the compartments;- Clean and remove the dust on the mainboard, check the cooling fan on the CPU chip to ensure the fan is not stuck. Inspect, solder, or replace electronic components if damage is found;- Finally, reassemble all components and reconnect all signal cables on the mainboard, close the CPU protective casing, supply power and turn on the computer. If there are any beeps indicating errors, reopen the device and check each separate component and connection.
Circular 06 stipulates for LCD screens as follows:
- Turn off the LCD screen, disconnect the power cable and signal cable. Use a soft cloth and a specialized screen cleaning solution to clean the screen surface;- Remove the rear cover of the LCD screen and use a soft brush and air blower to clean the dust inside;- Reconnect the power and signal cables, turn on the screen and check the image quality for optimal display;- Complete the maintenance and log all work completed.
Additionally, Circular 06 states that after maintenance is completed, the following activities must be carried out:
- Run self-test programs of the central processing system to check the device status after maintenance, verify the operating system's functionality;- Check the overall condition of the devices before reinstalling them in their original positions.
