Introduction to the Rubber Tree Engineering Sector at Intermediate Level

Recently, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) promulgated Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and veterinary medicine.

According to the provisions on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate and college levels in the rubber tree engineering sector, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is regulated that rubber tree engineering at the intermediate level is a field that performs tasks in the process of planting, caring for, and harvesting rubber, meeting the requirements of level 4 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

The main tasks of the profession include: Preparing seedlings, land preparation, planting, caring, fertilizing, watering, pest management, rubber tapping, managing workers' tasks, technical grading, and assessing and training workers' skills.

A rubber tree engineering professional is capable of effectively using materials and chemicals related to the production process such as plant protection chemicals, growth regulators, fertilizers, sap stimulants, and other tasks to ensure environmental and occupational safety and hygiene; proficiently using the tools and equipment of the profession such as: Irrigation systems, drainage systems in nurseries, tapping knives, and can use some statistical software to process research and experimental results.

Learners who complete the program can work at state management agencies, public service units; research institutes; and organizations, units engaged in planting, caring for, and harvesting rubber trees.

Note that the minimum knowledge volume is 1400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits).
