Introduction to Intermediate-Level Saltwater and Brackish Water Aquaculture

On December 28, 2018, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH was issued by BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and veterinary medicine.

According to the regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate, college levels in the field of saltwater, brackish water aquaculture, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that intermediate-level saltwater, brackish water aquaculture is a field that includes tasks such as breeding production, aquaculture of groups of aquatic species (fish, crustaceans, mollusks, algae) that are adapted to saltwater, brackish water environments, meeting the requirements of level 4 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

The main tasks of this profession include: breeding production of crustaceans, marine fish, and mollusks; production of aquatic feed; prevention and treatment of aquatic animal diseases; breeding of marine shrimp, marine fish, seaweed, and mollusks; trading in aquatic products and services.

Graduates are capable of holding technical positions in aquatic feed production plants, breeding production farms, aquaculture areas, saltwater, brackish water aquaculture farms of agencies, businesses related to the aquatic field, or self-establishing and operating their own breeding farms, aquaculture systems for themselves and their families.

The minimum volume of knowledge required is 1400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits).
