Guidelines for Compiling the List of Geographic Names for the Mainland of Tra Vinh Province

Accordingly, Circular 21 stipulates the list of residential places, topographical features, hydrological features, socio-economic areas serving the establishment of maps of the terrestrial portion of Tra Vinh province, which are arranged alphabetically in Vietnamese of each group of geographical entities, including: residential, socio-economic, hydrological, topographical; commune-level administrative units, including: commune-level town, commune; district-level administrative units, including: city, district-level town, and district. Specifically:

- The "Place Name" column consists of standardized place names.- The "Group of Entities" column signifies the group of place names, in which: DC denotes the residential group of place names; SV denotes the topographical group of place names; TV denotes the hydrological group of place names; KX denotes the socio-economic group of place names.- The "Commune-Level Administrative Unit Name" column denotes the name of the commune-level administrative units, in which: "TT." is the abbreviation for "commune-level town".- The "District-Level Administrative Unit Name" column denotes the name of the district-level administrative units, in which: "TP." is the abbreviation for "city"; "TX." is the abbreviation for "district-level town"; "H." is the abbreviation for "district".- The "Relative Position Coordinates of Entity" column refers to the relative position coordinates of the geographical entity corresponding to the place name in the "Place Name" column. Geographical entities displayed on the map as points or areas will have the corresponding coordinates in the "Central Coordinates" column; if the geographical entity is displayed on the map as a line, the corresponding coordinates will be in the two columns "Starting Point Coordinates" and "End Point Coordinates".- The "Map Sheet Number of Topographic Map" column specifies the number of the topographic map sheet at a 1:25,000 scale containing the standardized place name in the "Place Name" column.- Place names in parentheses (.) refer to place names on the map attached to the Treaty, Agreement, and Protocol for demarcation and boundary marking.
