Content in the statistical indicator group on investigating and solving traffic accidents in Vietnam from August 15, 2024

According to the provisions of Article 10 Circular 26/2024/TT-BCA, the content in the statistical indicator group on investigating and solving traffic accidents in Vietnam includes:

- Traffic accidents verified, investigated, and solved by the Traffic Police

+ Unit in charge: Traffic Police Department; Provincial level Traffic Police Division; District level Traffic Police and Order Team;

+ Total number of traffic accident cases received and solved within jurisdiction;

+ Total number of initial verification and resolution cases;

+ Number of administrative handling cases: number of cases; number of instances of administrative penalty decisions, fine amounts, number of instances of driver's license, captain's professional competence certificate, vehicle operating certificate revocation (revocation duration); number of vehicles being temporarily held; administrative handling agencies, organizations;

+ Number of cases identified with criminal signs, transferred to the People's Public Security investigative agency (reason);

+ Number of cases with criminal case initiation decisions, transferred to the People's Public Security investigative agency (reason);

+ Number of cases identified with criminal signs, transferred to the People's Army investigative agency (reason);

+ Number of administrative handling cases transferred from the People's Public Security and People's Army investigative agencies to the Traffic Police (number of cases, number of instances of administrative penalty decisions, fine amounts, number of instances of driver's license, captain's professional competence certificate, vehicle operating certificate revocation (revocation duration), number of vehicles being temporarily held; administrative handling agencies, organizations);

+ Number of cases not subject to administrative handling, archived (reason).

- Traffic accidents handled by the People's Public Security investigative agency based on crime denunciations, reports, or initiation recommendations

+ Unit in charge: People's Public Security investigative agency;

+ Total number of traffic accident reports received and solved within jurisdiction;

+ Total number of verification cases based on crime denunciations, reports, or initiation recommendations;

+ Number of cases with decisions not to initiate criminal cases: total number of cases; number of cases transferred to the Traffic Police for administrative handling (reason); number of cases not subject to administrative handling, archived (reason);

+ Number of criminal case initiation decisions (reason);

+ Number of cases transferred to the People's Army investigative agency;

+ Number of cases with decisions to temporarily suspend resolution of crime denunciations, reports, or initiation recommendations (reason);

+ Number of cases with decisions to resume resolution of crime denunciations, reports, or initiation recommendations (reason);

+ Number of ongoing verification cases based on crime denunciations, reports, or initiation recommendations.

- Traffic accidents handled by the People's Public Security investigative agency upon case initiation, and offender prosecution

+ Unit in charge: People's Public Security investigative agency;

+ Total number of criminal case initiation decisions (including cases initiated by the Traffic Police, cases initiated by the People's Public Security investigative agency based on crime denunciations, reports, initiation recommendations, and cases initiated without crime denunciations, reports, initiation recommendations), number of prosecuted offenders; prosecution under which article of the Criminal Code;

+ Number of decisions to temporarily suspend investigation (reason), number of offenders;

+ Number of decisions to terminate investigation (reason), number of offenders;

+ Number of cases transferred to the People's Army investigative agency, number of offenders;

+ Number of decisions to resume investigation (reason), number of offenders;

+ Number of investigation conclusion documents transferred to the Prosecutor's office for prosecution, number of defendants;

+ Number of ongoing investigations;

+ Number of instances providing Investigation Result Notices, verification, settlement of traffic accidents, or Investigation Conclusion Notices on resolving traffic accidents to the insurer.

More details can be found in Circular 26/2024/TT-BCA, which comes into force in Vietnam from August 15, 2024.
