On December 28, 2018, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH was issued by BLDTBXH, stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge, and the competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary medicine.

As stipulated in the Regulations on Minimum Volume of Knowledge, Competency Requirements Achieved by Learners after Graduating from Intermediate and College Levels in the Veterinary Medicine Field, issued under Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, veterinary medicine at the college level is an occupation operating within the fields of diagnosis, treatment, disease prevention, technical guidance aimed at protecting animal health, disease prevention in livestock, contributing to the improvement of livestock efficiency, and providing the society with safe products, meeting the requirements of level 5 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
Veterinary practitioners are capable of diagnosing, treating, preventing diseases, providing technical guidance in veterinary medicine; engaging in the production and business of livestock and veterinary medicine; developing, managing, and operating livestock farms, and performing other tasks related to the veterinary field.
Graduates can work in farms, livestock enterprises, veterinary drug companies, livestock feed production; engage in the business of veterinary drugs, veterinary clinics, agricultural service centers, research and technology transfer agencies in livestock and veterinary medicine; as well as state management agencies, administrative units, and other organizations related to veterinary medicine.
Note that the minimum volume of knowledge is 2100 hours (equivalent to 75 credits).
