On December 23, 2008, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Decree 07/ND-CP on the adjustment of the administrative boundaries of Krong Buk district to establish Buon Ho district-level town, Dak Lak province.

Decree 07/ND-CP stipulates the adjustment of administrative boundaries of Krong Buk district to establish district-level town Buon Ho as follows:
- Establish district-level town Buon Ho under Dak Lak province based on the adjustment of 28,205.89 hectares of natural area and 101,554 inhabitants of Krong Buk district (including the entire natural area and population of the communes: Doan Ket, Thong Nhat, Ea Sien, Binh Thuan, Ea Drong, Cu Bao, commune-level town Buon Ho; 2,950.44 hectares of natural area and 6,666 inhabitants of Ea Blang commune; 1,336.9 hectares of natural area and 7,109 inhabitants of Ea De commune).- Buon Ho town shall have 28,205.89 hectares of natural area and 101,554 inhabitants, including 8 sub-administrative units, namely the communes: Doan Ket, Thong Nhat, Ea Sien, Binh Thuan, Ea Drong, Cu Bao, commune-level town Buon Ho, and 2,950.44 hectares of natural area, 6,666 inhabitants of Ea Blang commune; 1,336.9 hectares of natural area and 7,109 inhabitants of Ea De commune.- Administrative boundaries of district-level town Buon Ho: East borders Krong Nang district; West borders Cu M’Gar district; South borders Krong Pac district; North borders Krong Buk district.
