On December 25, 2014, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Decree 123/2014/ND-CP regarding the awarding of titles "People's Artisan" and "Excellent Artisan" in the field of handicrafts.
04 criteria for awarding the title "Outstanding Artisan" (Illustration)
Decree 123/2014/ND-CP stipulates that the title "Outstanding Artisan" is awarded to individuals who meet the following criteria:
- The standards specified in Clauses 1 and 2, Article 5 of this Decree.
- Possess exceptional knowledge and skills, with significant contributions to preserving and promoting the value of local traditional handicrafts, specifically:
- Master the skills and secrets; teach and train the craft to 100 or more individuals, except for unique professions;- Directly design and create at least 10 products or works of high economic, technical, and artistic value.
- Have products or works that meet one of the following criteria:
- Won awards or received certifications of achievement from state organizations, economic organizations, or socio-professional organizations at competitions, fairs, and exhibitions at national and international levels, as permitted by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam;- Selected for display in museums, cultural works, historical sites, or major national events;- Selected as samples for teaching at art or vocational training schools;- Used in restoration projects of historical and cultural sites, confirmed by local authorities where the historical and cultural site is located.
- Have a career span of 15 years or more.
