The professional titles of librarians are subject to Table 3 (Professional and professional salary table for officials and public employees in public service units of the State) issued together with Decree 204/2004/ND-CP in Vietnam, specifically as follows:

- The professional title of a class I librarian is entitled to the salary range of class A3, group 2 (A3.2) public employees, from a salary coefficient of 5.75 to a salary coefficient of 7.55;

- The professional title of a class II librarian is eligible for the salary range of class A2, group 2 (A2.2) public employees, from salary coefficient 4.00 to salary coefficient 6.38;

- The professional title of a class III librarian is entitled to the salary range of grade A1 public employees, from a salary coefficient of 2.34 to a salary coefficient of 4.98;

- The professional title of a class IV librarian is entitled to the salary scale of a grade B public employee, from a salary coefficient of 1.86 to a salary coefficient of 4.06.

The current base salary is 1,490,000 VND/month in Vietnam (Article 3 of Decree 38/2019/ND-CP)

Thus, the salary of the professional title of librarian ranges from 2,771,400 VND to 11,249,500 VND in Vietnam.

After the probationary period ends as prescribed and the competent authority managing public employees decides to appoint the professional title of the library officer, the salary rank according to the appointed professional title shall be arranged as follows:

- In case of recruiting public employees with doctoral training, suitable to the job position recruited, appointed to the professional title of class III librarian: rank 3rd, salary coefficient 3.00, grade A1 public employees;

-In the case of recruiting public employees with a master's degree, suitable for the job position recruited, appointed to the professional title of class III librarian: rank 2, salary coefficient 2.67 , grade A1 public employees;

-In the case of recruiting public employees with university training qualifications suitable to the job position recruited, they are appointed to the professional title of class III librarian: rank 1st, salary coefficient 2.34, the rank of public employees grade A1;

- In the case of recruiting public employees with college training qualifications suitable to the job position recruited, they are appointed to the professional title of class IV librarian: rank 2, salary coefficient 2.06, the rank of public officer class B;

- In e of recruiting public employees with intermediate training qualifications suitable for the job position recruited, they are appointed to the professional title of class IV librarian: rank 1st, salary coefficient 1.86, class B public officer.
