In Official Letter 1168/BCT-TKNL in 2024, there are regulations regarding Earth Hour 2024 as follows:
Earth Hour is an initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise community awareness about climate change and energy conservation worldwide. Over the years, the Earth Hour campaign in Vietnam has attracted the attention and participation of 63 provinces, cities, and millions of people from all walks of life. The lights-off event in support of Earth Hour 2024 will take place from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Therefore, Earth Hour 2024 will take place from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024 in Vietnam.

What are tasks of the People's Committees of provinces and the Vietnam Electricity in coordinating the organization of activities in response to Earth Hour Campaign in 2024 in Vietnam?
In Official Letter 1168/BCT-TKNL in 2024, it is stipulated that in coordinating activities to support the Earth Hour campaign in 2024, the People's Committees of provinces and the Vietnam Electricity have the following tasks:
(1) People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities
- Organize communication activities to support Earth Hour taking place in March to attract the attention of various organizations, agencies, and residents in the province and city to participate in the campaign;
- Activities supporting Earth Hour need to be integrated with the local electricity saving program implementing Directive 20/CT-TTg in 2023.
- Mobilize organizations, agencies, and residents to turn off lights and unnecessary devices during the Earth Hour event.
(2) Vietnam Electricity
- Direct the Corporation, Power Companies of provinces and cities to support the Earth Hour campaign in 2024 by promoting propaganda at customer transaction locations, headquarters of power units in March 2024;
- Implement activities supporting Earth Hour combined with tasks assigned in Directive 20/CT-TTg in 2023;
- Mobilize organizations, agencies, and customers to turn off lights and unnecessary devices during the Earth Hour event;
- Ensure the safety of the power grid during the event.
