Construction and Implementation of the Model for Conservation and Sustainable Use of Important Wetland Areas in the 2021-2030 Period

How to develop and implement a model for conservation and sustainable use of important wetlands during the period 2021-2030?

Pursuant to Subsection 4, Section II, Article 1 of Decision 1975/QD-TTg of 2021, the regulations on developing and implementing environmentally sustainable livelihood models, and conservation and sustainable use of important wetlands models are as follows:

- Develop and implement environmentally sustainable livelihood models, conservation, and sustainable use of important wetlands models; conduct summaries, evaluations of the effectiveness of the implemented models, and disseminate widely;

- Pilot co-management models, and management models with the participation of enterprises and communities for some important wetlands;

- Implement the mechanism of fair benefit-sharing of wetland resources.

Regulations on monitoring, surveillance, and building databases of wetlands during the period 2021-2030?

According to Subsection 5, Section II, Article 1 of Decision 1975/QD-TTg of 2021, the regulations on monitoring, surveillance, and building databases of wetlands are as follows:

- Develop and implement a monitoring and surveillance program for important wetlands nationwide; integrate activities of tracking fluctuations, monitoring, and surveillance of wetlands within the national and provincial resource and environmental monitoring systems;

- Build a database on wetlands and integrate it into the national biodiversity database; create reports on wetlands nationwide and provincial wetlands;

- Implement controls to prevent and remedy activities that affect important wetlands, especially vulnerable wetlands and activities that convert the use purpose of wetlands as prescribed by law.
