Principles and Purposes

The Vietnam Association for Promoting Education (hereinafter referred to as the Association) is a social organization that gathers social forces and Vietnamese citizens living domestically and abroad who are dedicated to the cause of education, promotion of study, and talents, contributing to building a learning society nationwide to enhance people's educational level, train human resources, foster talents, serving the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, building and defending the Fatherland, and integrating regionally and internationally.

What are the rights of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education?

Based on Article 6 of the Charter (amended and supplemented) of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education issued according to Decision 275/QD-BNV of 2022, the rights of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education are as follows:

- Widely propagate the principles and purposes of the Association's activities in society, mobilize organizations, social forces, and Vietnamese citizens to participate in promoting education and talents and building a learning society.

- Represent members in internal and external relations directly related to the Association's functions, duties, and powers.

- Protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Association and its members according to the principles and purposes of the Association.

- Enhance the capacity for promoting education and talents; provide necessary information to members as prescribed by law.

- Provide consultation, criticism, and social assessment regarding educational policies, programs, projects, and legal documents related to the Association as requested by state agencies; organize educational forms for everyone through the non-formal education system, create conditions and opportunities for people to engage in lifelong learning.

- Receive lawful sponsorships from organizations and individuals both domestically and internationally as prescribed by law. Raise funds based on members' fees and revenue from business and service activities. Receive state support for activities associated with state-given tasks.

- Interact and cooperate with international organizations as prescribed by law.

What are the rights of the members of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education?

The rights of the members of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education are stipulated in Article 9 of the Charter (amended and supplemented) of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education issued according to Decision 275/QD-BNV of 2022 as follows:

(1) Be protected by the Association for the legal rights and interests as prescribed by law.

(2) Be provided by the Association with information related to the Association's field of activities and participate in activities organized by the Association.

(3) Participate in giving opinions to formulate policies and work plans of the Association, propose opinions to the Association on issues related to the Association's fields of activities.

(4) Have the right to stand for election, nominate, and vote for the leadership positions of the Association according to the Association's Charter.

(5) Have the right to introduce new members.

(6) Be commended by the Association for outstanding achievements in promoting education, promoting talents, and building a learning society and proposed by the Association to state agencies for commendation according to the Law on Emulation and Commendation.

(7) Have the right to voluntarily leave the Association.

(8) Honorary members enjoy the same rights and obligations as official members, except the right to vote on Association matters and the right to stand for election, nominate, and vote for the Association's Executive Board and Inspection Committee.
