9. Implementation roadmap:

- The exam solution will be implemented from 2025.

- Period 2025 - 2030: Maintain the paper-based exam method.

- Period after 2030: Gradually pilot computer-based testing for multiple-choice subjects in localities that meet the conditions (combining paper-based and computer-based tests is possible). When all localities nationwide meet the conditions, the high school graduation exam will be held on computers for multiple-choice subjects.

- Continue researching the roadmap, criteria to establish a shared question bank/library when conditions allow, to decentralize localities and educational institutions to organize exams evaluating high school level outcomes, replacing the national exam method at a uniform time like presently. During implementation, adjustments may be made depending on the actual conditions to ensure alignment with the country's economic and social context.

What are exam subjects and forms of exam of the high school graduation exam from 2025 in Vietnam?

Based on the Solution issued with Decision 4068/QD-BGDDT in 2023:

3. Exam content:

Adhering closely to the content of the 2018 General Education Program.

4. Exam format:

The Literature subject will be in essay format. The remaining subjects will be in multiple-choice format.

5. Exam subjects:

Candidates are required to take the Literature, Math subjects, and 02 optional subjects from those studied in 12th grade (Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Informatics, Technology).

6. Exam schedule:

The high school graduation exam (referred to as the Exam) is organized nationwide with common exam sets, conducted at the same time, as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Candidates will take 4 subjects, including 2 mandatory subjects Mathematics and Literature; and 2 optional subjects including Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Informatics, Technology.

The Literature subject will be in essay format. The remaining subjects will be in multiple-choice format.

In addition, from 2025, all exam subjects will adhere closely to the content of the General Education Program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT.

What is the expected date for the high school graduation exam in 2025 in Vietnam?

On August 1, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision 2045/QD-BGDDT in 2024 stipulating the time frame for the 2024 - 2025 academic year for preschool, general education, and continuing education, as follows:

1. Start of the school year shall be no more than 1 week before the opening ceremony. For first grade, the start shall be no more than 2 weeks before the opening ceremony.

2. The opening ceremony shall be held on September 5, 2024.

3. The first semester shall be concluded before January 18, 2025, and the academic year shall be concluded before May 31, 2025.

4. Recognize completion of the primary school program and middle school graduation before June 30, 2025.

5. Complete admissions for the first-grade classes before July 31, 2025.

6. The high school graduation exam for 2025 is expected to take place on June 26 and June 27, 2025.

7. Other national-level exams shall be held according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Thus, according to the time frame for the 2024 - 2025 academic year, the Ministry of Education and Training anticipates that the high school graduation exam for 2025 will be on June 26 and June 27, 2025.
