Who are the teachers and lecturers of defense and security education?

Pursuant to Article 23 of the Law on National Defense and Security Education 2013, teachers and lecturers of national defense and security education include teachers, full-time lecturers, visiting lecturers, and seconded military and police officers.

National defense and security education teachers and lecturers must have a bachelor's degree or higher in defense and security education; If you have a university diploma or higher in another major, you must have a certificate of pedagogical training and a certificate of training for teachers and lecturers in defense and security education.

Pursuant to Article 6 of Decree 13/2014/ND-CP:

- Teachers must have one of the following qualifications:

+ Have a bachelor's degree in defense and security education;

+ Have a university diploma in another major and a certificate of training for teachers and lecturers in defense and security education;

+ Have a 2nd degree in national defense and security education teacher training.

- Lecturers must have one of the following qualifications:

+ Have a bachelor's degree in defense and security education or higher;

+ Military and police officers with university degrees or higher;

+ Have a university diploma or higher in another major, a certificate of training for teachers and lecturers in defense and security education, and a certificate of pedagogical training.

Pursuant to Article 24 of the Law on National Defense and Security Education 2013, the training of teachers and lecturers in national defense and security education is regulated as follows:

- Formal training specialized in national defense and security education, focusing on 04 years with enrollment subjects being those with a high school diploma;

- 2-year intensive 2nd degree training for students who already have university degrees in other majors;

- 2nd degree training, intensive 18 months for enrollment Subjects that are teachers and lecturers teaching at high schools, vocational education institutions, and higher education institutions and have a certificate of national defense and security education training with a training period of no less than 6 months.

National defense and security education teachers and lecturers are periodically trained at schools of the people's armed forces and defense and security education centers.

Pursuant to Article 7 of Decree 13/2014/ND-CP, higher education institutions and schools of the people's armed forces that meet the following conditions will be considered by the Ministry of Education and Training to open a major to train teachers and lecturers in national defense and security education:

- Have a team of full-time lecturers responsible for teaching at least 70% of the training program, including at least 01 lecturer with a doctorate degree and 03 lecturers with master's degrees in the registered field.

- There is a training program for teachers and lecturers in defense and security education issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

- There are premises, infrastructure, lecture halls, sports fields, training grounds, specialized classrooms, and facilities to ensure teaching, learning, training, and focused activities according to the military lifestyle for students.

- There is a library, information search room, software, and equipment to serve the borrowing and searching of documents; Have enough information sources: Books, textbooks, lectures on modules/subjects, related documents, and domestic and foreign magazines meet the requirements for training teachers and lecturers in defense and security education.

- There is a specialized management unit that meets the professional requirements for managing university-level training activities for teachers and lecturers in national defense and security education.
