Payment of monthly allowance for meritorious people in Vietnam

The current monthly allowances and preferential allowances for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution shall comply with the provisions at Decree 75/2021/ND-CP

According to the provisions of Decree 75/2021/ND-CP , the standard level of preferential allowance for people with meritorious services to the revolution in Vietnam is VND 1,624,000 (hereinafter referred to as the standard rate). The standard level serves as a basis for calculating allowances, allowances and preferential regimes for people with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives with meritorious services to the revolution.

On November 11, 2022, the National Assembly passed Resolution on the state budget estimate 2023 . From July 1, 2023, the standard of allowance for people with meritorious services will be increased to ensure that it is not lower than the poverty line in urban areas.

According to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 3 of Decree 07/2021/ND-CP stipulating the poverty line in the period 2022 - 2025, the poverty line in urban areas in the period 2022 - 2025 is 2,000,000 VND.

Therefore, from July 1, 2023, the standard level of preferential allowance for people with meritorious services to the revolution will be increased according to the above content. This means that the monthly allowance and preferential allowance for people with meritorious services to the revolution from July 1, 2023 will also increase.
