Guidance on looking up confirmation of motor vehicles subject to automatic extension of the Inspection Certificate and the Inspection Seal online

Specifically, the validity period of the Inspection Certificate and the Inspection Seal for the motor vehicle is automatically extended by the Vietnam Register and confirmed in the specified form in Appendix VI issued together with Circular 08/2023/TT-BGTVT.

(The electronic version is digitally signed by the Vietnam Register and contains a QR code connecting to the Vietnam Register's electronic information page).

In this regard, the vehicle owner conducts a lookup on the Vietnam Register's electronic information page (https://giahanxcg.vr.org.vn) and prints the Confirmation of Validity of the Inspection Certificate and the Inspection Seal.

This confirmation is an inseparable document accompanying the issued Inspection Certificate for participating in road traffic as prescribed.

Amendment to regulations on motor vehicle re-inspection on the same working day in Vietnam

For motor vehicles re-inspected on the same working day at the same inspection unit, the inspection unit only re-inspects the failed items.

Specifically, for items related to the brake system or steering system, if there is any failed item, the entire brake or steering system must be re-inspected.

If the re-inspection is conducted on a different day or at a different unit, all items must be re-inspected.

(Previously, in Circular 16/2021/TT-BGTVT, the regulations for motor vehicle re-inspection on the same working day in Vietnam were as follows:

Motor vehicles re-inspected on the same day at the same inspection unit only required re-inspection of the defective, damaged items.

Specifically, for items related to the brake system or steering system, if there is any failed item, the entire brake or steering system must be re-inspected.

If the re-inspection is conducted on a different day or at a different unit, all items must be re-inspected).

Circular 08/2023/TT-BGTVT is effective from June 3, 2023.
