Support up to 5 million VND when providing information on traffic violations in Vietnam

On December 30, 2024, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 176/2024/ND-CP regulating the management and use of funds collected from administrative penalties related to road traffic order and safety violations and auction of vehicle license plates after being paid into the state budget.

Support up to 5 million VND when providing information on traffic violations in Vietnam

The expenditure levels for activities ensuring traffic order and safety utilizing funds collected from administrative fines on road traffic order and safety violations and vehicle license plate auctions in Vietnam, after submission to the state budget, are as follows:

- The allowance for officers and soldiers directly participating in ensuring traffic order and safety at night is not to exceed 200,000 VND/person/shift (a shift is 4 hours or more, nighttime from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following day), for half a shift (2 hours) the allowance is not to exceed 100,000 VND/person, with a maximum of 10 shifts/month.

- The allowance for overtime for officials and public employees and other forces at the local level directly involved in ensuring traffic order and safety during the day is not to exceed 100,000 VND/person/shift, with a maximum of 10 shifts/month; for night shifts not to exceed 200,000 VND/person/shift (a shift is 4 hours or more, nighttime from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following day), for half a shift (2 hours) the allowance is not to exceed 100,000 VND/person, with a maximum of 10 shifts/month.

- The allowance for individuals or organizations providing information reflecting administrative violations of traffic order and safety for a case shall not exceed 10% of the administrative fine amount, up to a maximum of 5,000,000 VND per case.

- Expenditures for other items shall be implemented according to legal regulations.

Thus, from January 1, 2025, individuals or organizations providing information reflecting administrative violations of traffic order and safety will be granted 10% of the administrative fine, up to a maximum of 5,000,000 VND per case.
