Standards for instructors teaching theory and practice of driving cars in Vietnam from January 1, 2025

The for instructors teaching theory and practice of driving cars in Vietnam are defined as follows:

(1) Theory instructors must meet the following criteria:

- Graduation with a diploma at the intermediate level or higher in law, automotive technology, automotive engineering technology, auto assembly, or other fields where the content of legal or automotive training accounts for 30% or more; instructors in driving techniques must hold a corresponding or higher-class driving license than the vehicle being trained;

- Possession of one of the degrees or certificates in teaching pedagogy: bachelor's degree in teacher training, pedagogy, technical pedagogy; intermediate pedagogy; level 1 or level 2 pedagogical skill certificate; pedagogical skill certificate for teaching at college or intermediate level.

(2) Practical driving instructors must meet the following criteria:

- Graduation with a diploma at the professional intermediate or intermediate vocational level or higher;

- Possession of a driving license of the corresponding or higher class than the vehicle being trained;

- Instructors for classes B, C1 must have held a driving license for a period of 3 years or more from the date the license was issued; instructors for classes C, D1, D2, D, BE, C1E, CE, D1E, D2E, DE must have held a driving license for a period of 5 years or more from the date the license was issued;

- Possession of one of the degrees or certificates in teaching pedagogy: bachelor's degree in teacher training, pedagogy, technical pedagogy; intermediate pedagogy; level 1 or level 2 pedagogical skill certificate; pedagogical skill certificate for teaching at college or intermediate level;

- Completion of training in practical driving instruction skills according to the framework program specified in Appendix II attached to Decree 160/2024/ND-CP.
