Recently, the Ministry of Health issued Decision 2019/QĐ-BYT publish a list of provinces and cities in the fertility zones in Vietnam applicable to the period 2020-2025.
According to this Decision, the publication of the list of provinces and cities is divided into fertility zones in Vietnam as follows:
- The low fertility zone in Vietnam consists of 21 provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Khanh Hoa, Long An, Bac Lieu, Tay Ninh, Soc Trang, Ca Mau, Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, Tien Giang, Can Tho, Vinh Long, An Giang, Ben Tre, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Kien Giang.
- The high fertility zone includes 33 provinces and cities: Ha Tinh, Lai Chau, Quang Tri, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Nghe An, Tuyen Quang, Ninh Binh, Son La, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh, Ha Giang, Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho, Kon Tum, Hoa Binh, Dak Nong, Cao Bang, Quang Binh, Lao Cai, Vinh Phuc, Gia Lai, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Dak Lak, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Binh Binh, Hai Duong, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Ha Nam.
- Alternative fertility zones in Vietnam include 09 provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Binh Dinh, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, Tra Vinh, Hai Phong, Hanoi and Binh Phuoc.
The list of provinces and cities by fertility level approved in this Decision is agreed to be applied in the period 2020-2025 as a basis for developing policies, programs, projects and plans related to the implementation of the objectives of the Vietnam Population Strategy to 2030.
Decision 2019/QD-BYT takes effect from April 27, 2021.
