Developing Vietnam national branding program

This is a national brand development program mentioned in Decree No. 28/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government on elaboration of some articles of the Law on Foreign Trade management on some measures for foreign trade management.

The Vietnam national branding program means a Government’s specific and long term trade promotion program. The Ministry of Industry and Trade takes charge and cooperates with ministries in developing and protecting brands, introducing national images and brands.

Some featured contents of the Vietnam national branding program are as follows:

- Setting targets, formulating strategies and plans for development in each period;

- Assisting enterprises in developing products that satisfy the criteria for Vietnam national brand;

- Assisting in developing and protecting domestic and foreign brands;

- Providing information about and introducing Vietnam national branding program in the country and foreign countries;

- Trade promotion activities.

More details can be found in Decree No. 28/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, which takes effect from March 01, 2018 and replaces Decree No. 100/2011/ND-CP.
