Vietnam’s policies for assistance in the development and operation of trade and logistics infrastructure

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 28/2018/ND-CP on elaboration of some articles of the Law on Foreign Trade management on some measures for foreign trade management, which is to regulate trade promotion activities, operation of foreign-based Vietnamese trade promotion organizations and operation of Vietnam-based foreign trade promotion organizations.

According to Decree No. 28/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, provision of assistance in the development and operation of trade and logistics infrastructure is prescribed as follows:

1. Provide assistance in the development of trade and logistics infrastructure that includes: exhibition and fair centers, trade promotion infrastructure, logistics centers, bonded warehouses, container freight stations.

2. Trade promotion activities aimed at providing assistance in logistics include:

- Organizing and participating in logistics conferences, fairs and exhibitions in foreign countries;

- Inviting business delegations to Vietnam to discuss about opportunities for investment and cooperation in development of logistics services;

- Holding Vietnamese logistics forums, international logistics fairs and exhibitions in Vietnam;

- Other specific activities decided by the Minister of Industry and Trade.

More details can be found in Decree No. 28/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, which takes effect from March 01, 2018.
