According to Circular 17/2016/TT-BYT regulating the recall and handling of unsafe food under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, unsafe products that are recalled may be handled by the following methods:
- Correcting product errors, labeling errors: products that violate quality standards, labeling errors compared to documented declarations but do not affect the health of consumers;- Changing the usage purpose: products violating quality standards that pose a risk to consumer health but can be used in other fields;- Re-exporting: imported products with quality issues, not consistent with the documented declarations, affecting consumer health, for which the product owner requests re-exporting;- Destroying: products not consistent with documented declarations affecting consumer health that cannot be corrected, repurposed, or re-exported.
Circular 17/2016/TT-BYT has been effective since August 15, 2016.
