Strengthening Inspection and Handling of Facilities Hoarding and Raising Mask Prices

This is one of the noteworthy contents in Official Dispatch 4026/BYT-TB-CT dated July 28, 2020, of the Ministry of Health regarding the strengthening of inspection and handling of violations in the area.

Strictly implementing Notice 253/TB-VPCP dated July 25, 2020 of the Office of the Government of Vietnam on the conclusions of the Prime Minister at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Government on COVID-19 prevention and control, in order to ensure that testing supplies, medical materials, and equipment are adequately provided for prevention and control efforts in the current situation, the Ministry of Health respectfully requests the Comrades, Chairpersons of the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities to direct the Departments and sectors to implement the following:

  1. Urge medical mask production units, epidemic prevention and control equipment units in the area to stabilize production, business, and raw material sources, ready to meet market demand to the maximum extent in a proactive manner associated with quality assurance, avoiding shortages. Prioritize supply to hospitals, medical facilities, and the community to serve epidemic prevention and control needs.

  2. Enhance inspection and promptly and strictly handle according to regulations those production and business establishments taking advantage of the epidemic situation to hoard goods, create artificial shortages, inflate prices unreasonably, negatively impacting the market and public sentiment and report to the Ministry of Health (Department of Medical Equipment and Construction, Tel: 024.62732272, email: dmec@moh.gov.vn).
