Which agencies are allowed to provide official information about Vietnam?

Currently, foreign information includes official information about Vietnam, information about promotion of Vietnam’s image and around-the-world information to Vietnam.

Official information about Vietnam is pieces of information about the guidelines and policies of the Communist Party and state laws, information about Vietnam’s situations in terms of various sectors and information about Vietnam’s history as well as other information.

According to Article 7 of Decree No. 72/2015/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, official information about Vietnam shall be proactively provided by Ministries, Ministry-level agencies, Government agencies and provincial People's Committees according to their functions, responsibilities and powers for international communities and Vietnamese.

Besides, Decree No. 72/2015/NĐ-CP stipulates that official information about Vietnam shall be provided in the following forms:

- Official speeches at international and domestic events, forums and press releases.

- Official speeches of state agencies.

- Diplomatic activities of state agencies.

- Diplomatic activities, speeches, events, information posted on websites and other activities performed by Vietnam’s representative offices.

- Media programs or products of state-owned press agencies such as Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam.

- Information posted on the electronic information portal of the Government, the electronic information page for diplomatic issues and the electronic information portal of Ministries, Ministry-level agencies, Government agencies and provincial People's Committees.

- State agencies' publications written in Vietnamese and other foreign languages.
