On October 05, 2017, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular 104/2017/TT-BTC regulating the management and use of funds for the implementation of policies related to individuals who have donated human body parts or cadavers.
Circular 104 stipulates policies for periodic health examinations for individuals who have donated body parts while still alive as follows:
1. Support provisions:
- Exempt from the cost of periodic health examinations according to the health examination service rates for individuals who have donated body parts.- Financial support for accommodation in case the individual who has donated body parts lives far from the medical facility and cannot return within the day: 450,000 VND/day/person, for a maximum of 02 days;- Financial support for meals during the actual days of periodic health examination, for a maximum of 03 days per examination: 200,000 VND/day;- Support for travel expenses from home to the medical facility and vice versa. In case personal transportation is used, the travel expense support is determined based on the distance from home to the medical facility and vice versa.
2. Individuals who have donated body parts are confirmed by the medical facility conducting the periodic health examinations regarding the time spent on these examinations to serve as a basis for enjoying benefits according to the provisions of the Labor Code, the Law on Social Insurance, and related guiding documents (if any).
Note: Individuals who have donated body parts must present a hospital discharge paper or a document proving the donation of body parts and an identity document when undergoing periodic health examinations.
